Blue Raven Solar Is Named One of Utah’s Fastest Growing Companies

By Holly Glem | August 28, 2017
This week the Utah Business Magazine announced Blue Raven Solar as one of Utah’s “Emerging 8,” an award given to the state’s fastest growing companies that have been in business for less than 5 years.

It’s no surprise that the state is home to a myriad of startups and established businesses alike, with Forbes ranking Utah as the #1 best state for business for 3 years running. According to a Utah Business representative, the organization received a record number of registrations and applications this year, making the award the most competitive it has ever been.

Blue Raven Solar was founded in 2014 with a handful of employees and a vision to make homeowners’ lives better through renewable energy. In less than two years, Blue Raven became the #11 solar company in the nation by installed volume based on Greentech Media’s U.S. PV Leaderboard. Today, Blue Raven employs over 400 people across 10 states in the fastest-growing renewable sector.

When asked about Blue Raven Solar’s growth, Ryan Lee, CEO of Blue Raven Solar, said,

“Blue Raven continues to be a work in progress. We rarely (if ever) stop to self-congratulate. Solar is still a very early market… Maybe after 7 to 10 years in the business we can reflect on what we have done. But we feel like solar is still in the first inning—no team ever stops to talk about what they are most proud about after that first inning of the ball game.”

The residential solar market is currently at about 1% market penetration nationwide. Literally millions of US homeowners still can and will benefit from going solar, both in financial savings and in increasing their reliance on clean and abundant renewable energy.
